Remote Training

Our live, instructor-led, remote training sessions deliver the high-quality BRC training that you’re used to…from the comfort and convenience of your computer.

Course material is delivered by our trainers through an online platform that includes presentations, live discussions, interactive activities and collaborative breakout groups. Participants can see and interact with the trainer, ask questions, and share ideas with fellow trainees.

These are complete courses with our typical depth and attention to detail but without the need to travel to a public training venue.

Frequently Asked Questions

The BRC’s live classroom trainings combine presentations, discussions, reference material and group activities to make learning a collaborative experience, and our #1 priority with remote training is to replicate this environment as closely as possible. The main difference to your experience will be participating in the group through the interface of your computer, as opposed to physically occupying the same room.

Presentations – content is driven by a presentation that guides participants through the subject matter.

Discussions – led and moderated by the trainer, participants are encouraged to use online training features to share ideas and examples with the group. This can be done by using the “Chat” feature to message the group, or by “Raising Your Hand” to get the instructor’s attention and then unmuting your microphone to share ideas or ask questions.

Reference Materials – made available before, during and after the session, these materials provide supporting information to help you prepare for the course, complete group activities, and refer back to your training once the course is complete.

Breakout Group Activities – our remote training platform enables “Group Breakout Activities”, which break the larger class into smaller groups to complete assignments. Each group is isolated from each other to collaborate on a task together, with the trainer moving in and out of each group to offer guidance and support. Each group can edit their documents and then present their activity to the larger group, with all of the completed activities logged and saved as part of the post-training reference materials.

BRC remote training courses are supported with a variety of materials. These include:

  • Reference documents for download ahead of time (and printing if desired). This can include information that you are expected to review in preparation for training, and/or materials that will be used to support your learning during the training itself.
  • In-class exercises and activities. Participants work in groups to create lists, presentations and diagrams, all of which are retained and then distributed to the group following the completion of training.
  • Presentation and notes. A copy of the PowerPoint presentation used as part of the training content, as well as the trainer’s notes for the different topics. These materials will be distributed following the completion of the training and can be used to refer back to course content and discussions.

When we deliver training in a classroom environment, our courses are organized as 2-day sessions that combine subjects to provide participants with a particular competency that they need. For example, our “ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor” course combines 1 day of understanding the ISO 9001:2015 requirements with 1 day of internal auditing skills and techniques to deliver the overall competency of “ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor”.

The flexibility and convenience of remote training allows us to present these topics as modules, each offered at separate times and delivered in shorter sessions. Modules can then be combined to establish the same competency that a 2-day classroom course provides. For example, “Understanding ISO 9001:2015 Requirements” remote training can be taken as one module and then combined with “Internal Auditing” remote training to create the overall competency of “ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor”.

The ability to mix and match modules allows you to combine topics to create a variety of competencies without duplicating any content. Continuing on the example above, you could then take our “Understanding AS9100 Rev. D Requirements” remote training and combine it with the “Internal Auditing” module you have already taken to create the overall competency of “AS9100 Rev. D Internal Auditor”.

Remote training modules can be taken in any order. However, our general recommendation is that you take an “Understanding” module first as a way to establish general knowledge of the types of requirements that internal auditors are typically expected to understand and audit against. Having this knowledge before taking the “Internal Auditing” module makes the application of auditing skills more intuitive.

Registration for remote training courses is done online by selecting your preferred courses and dates, and adding them to the shopping cart.

Payment (by credit card) is also made online at the time of checkout.

You will receive a confirmation of registration and payment via email. Full training details, including a link to join your remote training session(s), will be sent to participants as the training date approaches. (Typically 1 week in advance of your training dates.)

NOTE – For extenuating circumstances (e.g. company-sponsored training for which your company will not pay by credit card), please contact us at [email protected] or (888) 535-1401 for assistance with payment options.

Registrations and payments are processed one at a time, and you are able to register as many participants as desired…provided that there are seats available in that course session.

For large groups, you may consider special options that include:

1)     Group training presented in person, on site at your organization.

2)     A dedicated remote training session scheduled and customized for your group.

For details on both of these options, please contact us at [email protected] or (888) 535-1401.

Remote training courses do have a minimum requirement for participants in order to proceed as scheduled. In the event that a scheduled course is cancelled by The BRC due to low enrolment, participants will be given the option to be rescheduled into another course date or have their registration cancelled with a full refund.

In the event that a participant cancels their registration in a scheduled course, the following policy applies:

  • Cancellations more than 30 days in advance of the scheduled date are eligible for a full refund with no penalty. Participants may also request a move to different dates with no penalty.
  • Cancellations within 30 days of the scheduled date will result in a credit for the full course cost that can be applied to future BRC remote training or classroom training.
